We have been providing repair, maintenance and calibration services to the water industry for more than 20 years. We specialise in leak noise correlator systems…from the earliest days of correlation technology when the equipment was 'van mounted', to the latest 'pocket portable' systems and everything in between.

Experience gained by using the equipment that we service, conducting on site training and leak detection surveys worldwide, allows us to fully appreciate the need for 'tip top' performance and reliability from your equipment.

To enable customers to plan their service and calibration requirements, our charges have been standardised to include the minor repairs and parts that may be required to enable a full calibration to be made. The full service that we offer is detailed below.

most repairs and parts as necessary
full frequency response check of radio and correlator system
correlation time delay accuracy check
accelerometer sensitivity and frequency response check
battery charge rate check and charge safety test
battery capacity/condition check
test and repair all connecting leads and ancillary equipment
issue of calibration certificate traceable to National Standards

Rechargeable batteries, severe physical damage and major component failure are not included.(Battery costs vary with equipment types)

As well as the checks on the equipment functions, the calibration itself is primarily of the radio telemetry system receivers and transmitters. This is vital in obtaining good results from the equipment as well as ensuring compliance with the radio transmission legislation. This is especially important as some manufacturers use radio frequencies at the very edge of the permitted band and any drift can cause illegal and inefficient operation.

The calibration runs for 12 months from the date of adjustment. Experience has shown that correlator performance may deteriorate and radio links probably require adjustment after this time as well as the vital checks to be made on accelerometer sensor sensitivity, connecting cables and general repairs from a year 'in the field'. Some equipment displays a reminder on the screen that 'calibration is due'…not because of a definite fault, just as a reminder that 12 months has elapsed since the equipment was last inspected and that some service work is almost certainly needed.

The cost of this is standardised to cover all makes of equipment.

If a full service is not required then specific repairs can be made to individual items at a pro rata cost….. although it is often more cost effective to have the full service that usually includes such repairs. In the event of serious circuit failure or damage, part of the cost of any replacement components will be absorbed in this standard calibration charge.

Accelerometer sensors are welded construction stainless steel units that are not generally repairable. Depending upon type, the cables, connectors and integral preamplifiers may be repairable.

Repair and calibration of Ground Microphone and amplifier systems, MAST step testing systems and electronic listening sticks are also undertaken.

We no longer service pipe/cable tracing equipment.

In addition to all the above we are usually able to be very competitive on the supply of major spare parts, batteries, accelerometer sensors, aerials etc for most manufacturers equipment.
